Trip to Brazil

There has being no posting this week for a simple reason. I spent the whole week arranging my trip to Brazil. Basically there was no time to do anything.

Summary:
- Some corrections on the CMB dN/dS simulations. Now they are right. I'm preparing the plots.
- Nice talk about rotation curves from our Ph.D. student on tuesday.

I'll be posting back on Jan 2nd or 3rd when Science gets back to my life! :-)

Merry Xmas and Happy new year!

Not much!

Today not much!

A summary talk about an extremely large telescopes meeting held in Cape Town a month ago, trying to figure out what is wrong with my computer ... and trying to organize my head!

Not much :-)

No science :-(

Late post from yesterday where there was no new science made.

The day was spent on townhall and university paper work and on some studies on how to identify the numerical problem my computer has presented for months already!!

Not a "wasted" day, but not a productive day also.

Can't find the date and time bar anymore ... seems that the 11:59 PM convension is dead ...

Observation + "hurricane" + talk at the IAC

So, back from the Canary islands!

The three nights at the INT were terrible.

1st night a extra tropical storm with winds about 180 km/h in La Palma and 280 km/h in Tenerife (I was in La Palma).
2nd night, the leftover. Low temperatures, ice on the domes and terrible weather.
3rd night, cyrrus + 100% humidity 3 or 4 times during the night ...

Let's see what I can get from those images.

After that I went to Tenerife to give a talk at the IAC. Nice! There were not too many people at the talk but it was good. After the talk, a nice meeting with Alfonso Guerri about some things we can colaborate. Also got some information on how to deal with the problems with the LAICA camera data! Bad and hard treatment for this data!

Today not much! Organizing some stuff, still tired with the trip!

Tomorrow paperwork before getting here to work!
