Proposal sent
Proposal to the SPP/DFG closed and sent ... that was the whole activity for the day. Now studying some German for the class tomorrow!

Yep, many days without posting ... crazy days!
The proposal to the SPP/DFG dominated the week. It will be ready on monday ... just details now.
German class. On tuesday Mittlestufe, same teacher, same subject ... so I decided to try the oberstufe on thursday and it looks like I can survive it, so I'll be taking it! Let see! :-)
Now weekend and some work to do.

Friday and yesterday were "devoted" to this project I'm writing ... today it will be also. And today German classes re-start.
Complex day hehehehe
So, complex day. Some things "off work" to solve. Work was dominated by some reading, some writing and some GALFIT testing.
We had a talk from Antti Tamm who's visiting us this month. Photometry of distant galaxies. Some interesting stuff to discuss with him later like "U-V evolution in redshift" (higher z galaxies are much bluer than lower z) and the same kind of evolutionary trend in effective radius. Gotta discuss a bit more that.
Winter day?
It's not winter yet, but it's coming, today was (at least that I know) the first frost ... woke up in the morning and the roof I can see from my window was white of ice ... I don't know what's worst, the winter or it's antecipation! :-)
Today german level exam to this semester, let's see if I learned enough to go to the next level of if I'll have to repeat last level again!
Work! Reconstructed the individual objects of this detailed analysis of one of the groups. Tomorrow I'll interpret the results!
Made the new version of GALFIT work on my computer, there was some small changes to check the results Elif got to the same object (actually a new parameter) but now it's working fine!
Writing a new project, gotta read a lot!

Tuesday was a plain day.
Fine tunning the detailed analysis of one of the groups, now it has worked, I hope. Arranging some stuff about the new project I'm writing. And some important reading!

From friday to late at night on monday ...
Friday was a complicated day to finish the proposal on a very international and continental way.
Germany (GMT+1 +1), England (GMT0 +1), Brazil (GMT-3) and Argentina (GMT-4).
It took us a while to let it as it must be be we managed and it was sent.
Today a calmer day (monday ...). Sent the Prague proposal (finally), restructured a group detailed analysis and started with my galfit tests.

Proposal and mosaics :-)
So, today I prepared a mosaic of one of our clusters to Bodo, he needs it for a talk (may be re-prepared tomorrow if he needs some modification) and wrote part of a proposal to SOAR (yep, it was over the proposal season, but not quite over ... :-) ). Tomorrow more on proposal that should be ready till friday.
On yesterday!
Some small things done. Finished the proceedings for Prague, answered doubts from my colaborator's student in the US and started a new/urgent proposal to SOAR ... also some computer issues to solve ... :-)

Friday I finished a first text about the project I'm writing and sent it to the colaborators ... waiting for replies.
Yesterday was group meeting day, arranging some stuff about the groups computers and finished the analysis of one of the groups that was being fine-tunned! Great, got the final numbers now is just write the paper! :) (there're still some features to be analyzed there before the paper gets ready).
Today more stuff, I'll tell later!
Project
Now writing a new project to the DFG ... almost from scratch, but a project that involves a bigger group ... so, a bit of politics also. Let's see how it goes!
German reunification day and conference proceedings
Yesterday was the German reunification day, so monday was quite a "dead" day! Today had to solve some stuff outside the institute, in the rain ... grrrrrrrrrrr and wrote the conference proceeding to the IAU Symp. 235 held during the IAU-GA in Prague last month ... now sent to the co-authors and let's wait. A lot of work ahead tomorrow ...
