Getting back
So, last week was kind of off focus due to the DFG workshop that required some preparation and had a lot of pressure, what takes us out of focus ... results were not as good as we expected ... still being worked out.
Working on the catalogues and on re-calibration ...

GCSs photometry
Friday was a "short day". I was not feeling very well so I just finished my poster for this week's DFG workshop and took of back home.
Today I worked on the photometry of GCSs, but there might be a calibration problem. Tomorrow I'll check this.

Back!
Back on track! Actually it was suppose to be since monday, but there were some problems on the way. Yep, got back to Garching on monday, but at the end of the day I started feeling ill ... what has last basically until yesterday. So today was the first day back ...
December in Brazil working and vacations. To summarize, gave a couple of talks, talked to a couple of old collaborators about old and new ideas and did some work on the old topics. Some catalogue organization, some kg-project selection (I was actually about to tell more on the kg-project, but now I'll wait until it's ready, it'll be soon).
Also some job applications ...
On the personal side, got officially married to Fernanda, got my eye surgery and had a lot of fun with family and friends. Too bad it was too rushy, as usual.
Special comment on the flight to Brazil. After the long TAM story, I bought a KLM ticket, actually flying Air France going and KLM coming back. Air France changed the flight schedule 12 hours before the flight, then we moved to KLM going to Brazil too. Got to the airport more the 2 hours in advance, but there was no ticket issued and no one working in Amsterdam to solve the problem. After some time trying, the very nice KLM/Air France attendant solved the problem and we checked in 5 minutes before taking off. Not necessary to say that the luggage didn't board ... besides that the flight was great, and flying KLM is for sure my first option now.
This week:
Got an important application done ...
Analyzed the ADDSTAR simulation for GCSs study in one of our groups and prepared (almost ready) the poster for next week DFG workshop, that decides my contract renewal ... is that pressure?? NOOOO a one day workshop with the referees that are gonna tell "you have the renewal!" ... :-)))
That's it, basically. Looking for ideas on density map analysis where some important part of the data is missing ...

Proposed
Finished, sent, goes tomorrow to the post and I go to Berlin to sign some paper in the consulate.
Too bad is a quick trip, I love Berlin. We'll leave Matheus at the Tagesmutter, get the train, sign, come back and get here on time to pick him up around 5:30 PM ... rushy?? NAAAAAA!
Train activity tomorrow. Objects selection in the high-z project.

Proposing
Whole day on the proposal ... it has to be ready tomorrow at the end of the day.

And reporting, actually proposing
Yep! It's not a report, is a new proposal, where you have to make clear that you did what you were suppose to ... :-)
I'm on that, and will be on that for the whole week. Tried to put a addstar simulation forward, but it requires attention, so it will be done when the proposal is finished.
The KG code, which I expected it would take 4 days to run, did it in 1 day but gave 1/3 of the expected result, no time to check. Put it to run in another configuration, but it crashed, now it's back again. I'll check it in a while.

Reporting
So! ESO application sent during the weekend. There was some KG coding, which seems to be finished and the code is running for one day already. If my expectations are right, it will run for about 4 days.
Also some DFG report preparation and today the day was solving some problems on the city center and writing the report ... this whole week is going to be like that. Also I'll confirm some results on IGL, GCSs and UCDs and prepare some figures that will go there also ...

Applicating over!?
Application to ESO is ready, but I'll send it tomorrow only. I might have some idea at night :-)
Working on the DFG report and some KG coding ... it might be ready! :-)

Yet with applicating!
Still refining my application and doing rough work on the DFG report.
Also some KG debugging ...

Still applicating :-)
Still writing ... after some suggestions I rearranged the text, now it read better! Waiting for new input :-)
Also some pre-preparation for the DFG report to renew my contract and a lot of discussion about it.
Also a bit of KG coding! But just a bit!
